The national CP football team coached by Chingiz Temerkhanov is holding a training camp in Astana.

Currently, the Kazakhstan national CP football team is preparing for its first performance at the international tournament, which will be held from April 24 to 27 in Sochi (Russia).

Last year, as a part of KFF Development Strategy, the first Kazakhstan Football Championship was held, in which five teams took part.

As the head coach of the Kazakhstan national CP football team Chingis Temerkhanov notes, the players were very inspired.

“This is a historical event for our football, as this is the first CP national football team. Last year we held the first championship among adults, where players were selected for the national team. Definetely, it’s not easy for the guys, since this is the team’s first gathering, many lack match practice. But over these few days of training, we gained a certain pace, the guys began to understand what needed to be done. At the tournament in Sochi there will be teams with experience that have been playing for more than ten years. Our main task is to play together and gain experience, but we will play to win.

''Yesterday there was a meeting with KFF President Adlet Barmenkulov, he supported the team and wished them good luck. Of course, being a national team player is a huge honor. I also explained to them that they now represent Kazakhstan. The guys are ready, they are fighting. They are very strong people, because playing football with cerebral palsy is very difficult, and even more so achieving any results. I am very grateful to the team, they themselves try to train in their cities, perform, and come to competitions. I believe that the creation of a national team will be a strong impetus for the development of the football core in our country,” Chingis Temerkhanov said.

CP football is a team sport for individuals with cerebral palsy or acquired brain injury. This type of football, both mass and competitive, is played at the club, national, regional and international levels.

The festival will be held as part of the UEFA Football Sustainability Strategy 2030. The event has a unique character.
