Igor Svechnikov: "Playing with such teams, our players get a huge international experience"
- Mr. Svechnikov, could you share your impressions of the President's Cup?
- I would like to thank the organizers of the tournament, the Kazakhstan Football Federation for the created conditions. The quality natural turf and actually everything was at the high level. This is very important for beautiful game and professional growth of players. I also want to note the strong squad of the participants. Playing with such teams, our players get a huge international experience, which they need. Thanks to such matches, they can develop and improve their skills.
- What tasks did you set up for your players?
- Two teams of Kazakhstan - 2002 and 2003 year born were recalled for the tournament. In the latter, prospective young men are gathered to participate in the qualifying round of the European Championship in 2019. It was important for the coaching staff to see the candidates for the national team at this stage of preparation. We needed to play team interaction and various tactical developments, as well as variants of our squad. Next, we will prepare for the qualifying matches of the European Championship, which will take place in Portugal in October this year. Perhaps before that we will able to hold another one training camp and try to play a couple of control games with good rivals. Thanks to this, it will be possible to determine the final squad. They will prepare for the European tournament with serious opponents.
- Did you like any of your rivals?
- I liked the team from Krasnodar. Physically they are very strong, fast, which allows them to win. Their players most play in attacking roles. "Krasnodar" is one of the best academies, with children from all over Russia. This team became the decoration of our tournament.
- Can you highlight someone from the players of this tournament?
- I would like to highlight the forward of the Azerbaijani national team - Musa Gurbanli. He drew attention by his game. A promising young forward.
