New president of Kazakhstan Football Federation appointed
Of all the nominees for the post, Marat Omarov received the majority of votes at the XXVII Elective Conference of the Kazakhstan Football Federation.
Marat Omarov was born on September 20, 1988. He graduated from the British University of York under the Bolashak program with a degree in philosophy, political science and economics in 2010 and from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2011, earning a Master's degree in Social Sciences.
From 2012 to 2014, he held the position of Advisor to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and later - as an Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Budget Planning, National Economy.
From 2014 to 2016, he worked as Deputy Director of the Department of Tariff and Institutional Policy Formation of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2016 to 2017, he worked as Managing Director of Kazakhtelecom JSC.
From 2017 to 2019, he held the position of Chairman of the Management Board of National Agency for Technological Development JSC, after transformation - Chairman of the Management Board of QazTech Ventures JSC (part of Baiterek JSC).
From 2019 to October 2020 - Managing Director - member of the Management Board of Baiterek JSC. Member of the Board of Directors of Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Kazyna Capital Management JSC, Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC.
From October 2020 to August 2022 - Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On August 16, 2022, he was appointed Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
