Kazakhstan national team defeats Curacao in friendlier

As a part of the training camp in Antalya, Kazakhstan national team held a friendly match against the national team of Curacao.

The Curaçao national team represents a small island nation in the Caribbean and is a member of CONCACAF, playing in tournaments of that confederation such as the Gold Cup and the Nations League. The team has been officially part of FIFA since 2011, following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles. Since January 2024, the national team has been led by experienced Dutch specialist Dick Advocaat. As of December 2024, Curaçao is ranked 91st in the FIFA rankings.

The game was held without spectators, and its main purpose was to improve interaction between players in the Kazakhstan Premier League and foreign championships, as well as providing players with the game practice.

Kazakhstan national team held a match with two different squads in each of the halves.

The team coached by Ali Aliyev won with a score of 2:0. Maxim Samorodov opened the scoring in the 15th minute, taking advantage of an accurate long pass from Islam Chesnokov.

In the 36th minute Askhat Tagybergen doubled the advantage by scoring a direct kick from a free kick earned by Maxim Samorodov - 2:1

A 16-year-old forward Dastan Satpayev became the youngest debutant in the history of the national team. 

Currently, the training camp in Antalya has been completed, and the team is going to Wales, where on March 22 the Kazakhstan national team  will play against Wales. The match will be held in Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium and will kick off at 00:45 (Kazakhstan time).
