Annual Walking Football tournament held in Astana
The event was a part of the implementation of the Kazakhstan Football Federation's development strategy. One of its priorities is the health and well-being of its residents, and holding such events confirms its commitment to this goal.
Walking Football is not just a game, but an opportunity for older people to keep fit and be part of the sporting community. We are convinced: football is accessible to everyone, regardless of age!
KFF Sustainability Development Manager Artur Temerkhanov noted the importance of the Walking Football tournament.
''The Kazakhstan Football Federation continues to implement its sustainable development strategy, where one of the main goals is the health and well-being of all ages. This year Walking Football tournaments will be held in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Petropavl and Kokshetau. We encourage football veterans to take part in these events.
There is no strain on the joints, on the heart, but at the same time people play in a team, they feel part of the team, part of society, play, and it is a very interesting game. And judging by the feedback from our participants, this football has a great future in Kazakhstan,'' Artur Temerkhanov said.
The team ''IMRAN'' won the tournament, demonstrating excellent team spirit. The debutants from the team ''Naiza'' became silver medalists, and the honourable third place was taken by the team ''Әkeler kenesi'.
According to the results of the tournament, the following nominations were determined:
Best defender - Bauyrzhan Kaldybaev (ABYROI)
Best goalkeeper - Daniyar Zhunusov (Әkeler Kenesi)
Best forward - Adilbek Basekeyev
Best scorer - Zhanat Erkibayev (Әlim)
Best Player - Amir Abdraimov (Naiza)
In 2025, the series of Walking Football tournaments will continue - games will be held in Astana, Almaty, Petropavl and Kokshetau.
