Changes in structure of Kazakhstan football

Since season 2025 participants of the Premier League will be obliged to create women's teams.

The decision to make women's teams compulsory for all UEFA competitions in order to develop and promote women's football was taken at the UEFA Executive Committee meeting held in May 2024 in Dublin, Ireland. The changes have already been introduced in the UEFA competitions club licensing.

In accordance with this decision, the KFF Executive Committee approved the updated rules for lthe UEFA competitions club licensing. These rules include a new criteria that provides for the mandatory creation of a women's team to participate in the Kazakhstan Championship among women's teams “QFL Women's League”. The new rules will come into force as early as January 1, 2025.

This decision is part of a long-term strategy for the development of Kazakhstan football, one of the key objectives of which is the active development of women's football in the country. This will not only improve women's fooball in general, but also will ensure equal opportunities for female athletes, as well as strengthen the country's position in the international arena.
