From 26 to 29 August, Astana hosted the fourth module of the UEFA PRO coaching programme, organized by the Kazakhstan Football Federation.

The programme included theory and practice with Astana’s young footballers on the pitch of the KFF House of Football.\

Yerlan Bekmukhaev – Senior Coach of the KFF Academy U-16 team:

"The course went really well for us. We gained a lot of knowledge, as the aim of the Technical Centre is to provide us with knowledge that corresponds to the Pro category and to teach us how to apply it in practice. The course sessions were very interesting.

I believe that in the upcoming modules we will continue to deepen our knowledge, and there is a lot of hard work ahead. I am confident that within the UEFA Pro program we will gain even more valuable and useful experience."

The fourth module of the programme focused on the game model, positional defence in zones 1–2, and tactical periodisation. The course was led by instructors Stanislav Pogorelov, Evgeniy Sveshnikov, Vladimir Nikitenko, Viktor Semenov, Igor Shpanera and Gennadiy Skurtul.

Evgeniy Kostrub – Assistant Coach of the KFF Academy U-15 team:

“The training was both informative and quite intensive, as we studied and worked for four days from early morning until late evening. The learning format was based on reflection, the exchange of experiences and opinions, and work in both small and large groups. I believe that close interaction between specialists is a key factor in the success of the course. It is not just about lectures where you listen, take notes and then leave.”

A total of 20 Kazakhstani specialists took part in the course. As part of the program, they analysed game situations from UEFA Champions League matches and studied modern approaches to training methodology using examples from clubs such as Stuttgart (Germany), Atlético Madrid (Spain), Crystal Palace (England) and Napoli (Italy).
