New football pitch opened in Khromtau under FIFA Arena programme
The initiative, implemented with the support of FIFA, aims to promote grassroots and youth football while improving access to modern sports infrastructure across the regions of Kazakhstan.
The opening ceremony was attended by David Loriya, General Secretary of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF); Nurkhan Tleumuratov, Akim of the Khromtau District; and Askhat Kalzhanov, President of the Aktobe Regional Football Federation.
This is the second facility completed in Kazakhstan under the FIFA Arena programme. The first pitch was inaugurated on 16 October in Kokshetau. In the long term, the project envisions the construction of 100 mini-football pitches for schoolchildren across the country.
KFF General Secretary David Loriya congratulated local residents on the opening of the new pitch and underlined the importance of the initiative:
“We all know that the Head of State, in his Address, emphasised the importance of developing grassroots and children’s sports infrastructure. This is the second pitch opened in our country with the support of FIFA. I hope this venue becomes a favourite place for all pupils, where they can spend their free time and play the most beautiful game,” said David Loria.
The FIFA Arena programme is one of KFF’s key strategic initiatives. It focuses on creating modern, safe and accessible infrastructure for children’s and youth football, supporting the growth of grassroots sport, and inspiring youth to lead an active lifestyle.
