Magomed Adiev: “We need to go ahead”
– What would you say about the state of the team after the game against Greece?
– A big background of disappointment. We wanted to get to the historic tournament for the first time. There was a certain burden of disappointment and probably still remains a little. We tried to leave everything behind. We need to go ahead.
– Is there a chance that in this game you will substitute Igor Shatskiy with another goalkeeper?
– We talked with the goalkeeper coach. We discussed the candidates we have and whether it makes sense to substitute Shatskiy. I made some changes in the squad, the game against Greece hit our pride hard. There will be many new names. They thought about the goalkeeper for a long time, but agreed that Shatskiy was in a good psychological state; after conceding five goals, we did not see his mistakes. Tomorrow Shatskiy will be playing from the first minutes.
– Is rotation expected in the game with Luxembourg?
– Definetely, there will be rotation. I told the team that, looking back, we needed to look forward. Tomorrow there will be big changes compared to the game against Greece. But there will be no changes in terms of the way the game is played, it was necessary and expected, but again the defeat in Greece hit us and it took us too long to recover. Again, we'll see tomorrow whether we've moved away from it or not. No matter what theory I would spin to them, it would not be perceived by the team.
