Currently, large-scale modernization work has been successfully completed at the ''Metallurg'' stadium in Balkhash.

The grand opening was attended by the akim of Balkhash Sapar Satayev, the KFF president Adlet Barmenkulov and football veterans. In addition, the Ambassador of the project, the former captain of the Kazakhstan national football team Samat Smakov held an open training session for children and signed autographs. The young players also received gifts from the project partners.

“There is an order from the Head of State to create conditions for children to play sports, which will improve the health of the nation. Therefore, we focus on the development of grassroots football. Without it, there will never be professional football. Our main task is to open such fields in Kazakhstan. Next, we plan to open children's centers, academies and thus raise the level of our football,” the KFF President Adlet Barmenkulov said.

The football pitch at the Metallurg stadium, which is about 17 years old, was worn out. Thanks to the ALAÑ project, Italian-quality turf was laid there. The first to appreciate the quality of the field were veterans of the city of Balkhash and the Kazakhmys group of companies, who played a friendly match.

"On behalf of the city leadership and residents of Balkhash, I thank the Kazakhstan Football Federation for the work done. I am sure that this gift will be appreciated by both young football players and adult sports fans. Such a modern facility will be a major contribution to the development of grassroots, the education of sports spirit and skills," the akim of Balkhash Sapar Satayev added.

In total, as past of the ALAÑ project for 2023-2025, it is planned to renovate 20 football fields in the country. Football fields were already renovated in Almaty, Shymkent, Aktobe, Petropavl, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ayagoz, Aksu and the Zhetysu region. The opening of the next field is planned in Zhezkazgan next week.
