Adlet Barmenkulov resigns as KFF President
His contribution to the development of football in Kazakhstan cannot be overestimated - it is not just projects, it is a new milestone, a foundation on which the achievements of future generations will be built.
Adlet Nazarbayevich Barmenkulov became KFF President in February 2022. Under his leadership. different large-scale projects were implemented to promote grassroots, develop women's football and create modern infrastructure for grassroots football. In two years, 13 full-size fields were opened across the country as part of the ALAN project, which gave thousands of children and youth the opportunity to play football on high-quality and modern grounds.
The country experienced a “football boom”, uniting millions of fans from all regions of the country.
Fooball has become accessible to everybody, including inclusive football, which opens up opportunities for disabled people to play equally with others. Thanks to the efforts of Adlet Nazarbayevich Barmenkulov, our football has reached a new level, and Kazakhstan became known in Europe, which opened the door to closer international cooperation and exchange of experience with many international organizations. FIFA and UEFA presidents have personally provided great support.
The launch of the Football Management Academy together with AlmaU was an important step in the development of professional football managers who will lead our teams forward.
An invaluable achievement for the whole country was the historic victory of Kazakhstan national team in UEFA Nations League 2022. In 2023, our national team inspired millions of Kazakhstanis by scoring a record 18 points in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, coming one step away from the final stage.
In partnership with FIFA, a national football academy for U15 team was established in 2024. Moreover, thanks to Adlet Nazarbayevich's efforts, the position of the national futsal team has been strengthened, raising the team to 2nd place in the UEFA ranking and into the top five strongest teams in the world.
Projects for girls, such as the ''My Game'' festival and the Playmakers program, not only involved thousands of young female players in the game, but also helped to form the women's football in Kazakhstan.
We sincerely thank Adlet Nazarbayevich for his inspiring leadership, for his intellectual and financial support, for his attitude and contribution in the Kazakhstani football.
According to the KFF Regulations, the new president will be elected at the Extraordinary Conference of the KFF, the date of which will be announced later.
