Walking Football tournament among football veterans held in Almaty

On 9 May, Walking Football Almaty Legends tournament was held in Almaty, which united football veterans and became a real celebration of sport and friendship.

The competition has been held for the second year, gaining popularity and attracting more participants and spectators.

The tournament was attended by Kazakhstani football veterans, whose energy, excitement and sporting spirit continue to inspire the younger generation, proving that love for football does not depend on age.

Chingiz Temerkhanov, curator of social projects at the Kazakhstan Football Federation:

"Foot football is not just a competition, but a significant social project. It helps the older generation to maintain physical fitness and emotional well-being. The format of the game is safe and accessible, while maintaining sports excitement and team spirit".

Yerlan Adambekov, General Secretary of the Almaty Football Federation:

"The walking football initiative is aimed at promoting health, longevity and active involvement of veterans in sports life. We believe that this sport will spread throughout the country, uniting veterans and football fans".

The next stages of the tournament will be held in Kokshetau and Petropavlovsk. The organisers are confident that next year foot football will become a full-fledged republican competition, uniting football veterans from all over Kazakhstan and contributing to the development of a healthy lifestyle and strengthening team spirit.
