The Director of the KFF Refereeing Department, Nuno Alexandre Parreira de Castro has published explanations regarding individual match incidents from the 7th round of the Premier League.

Zhenis – Aktobe

Min 90+3 – On a home team attacking movement, the ball is kicked on a long pass inside away team penalty area. Away defender 6 jumps for the ball and heads the ball away. After the defender jumps, home attacker 19 runs towards the opponent and jumps later and hits the defender. The contact is clearly initiated by the attacker who jumps against his opponent and not by the defender who has not made any additional movement with his arm.

In these situations, the correct decision must be allowing play to continue as no foul is committed.

Correct decision from VAR to intervene and to recommend an OFR.

Turan – Zhetysu

Min 57 – Running behind home player 2, away player 77 stretches the leg and kicks with his studs the opponents’ achilles without any chance to play the ball and clearly endangering his opponents’ safety.

In these situations, the correct decision must be to award a direct free kick and to show a red card to the player.

Correct decision from VAR to intervene and to recommend an OFR.

Kaisar – Astana

Min 67 – Inside home team penalty area, attacker nº 2 was running with the ball controlled in front of him when defender nº 19 stretches the leg to try to play the ball but misses it and trips his opponent.

In these situations, the correct decision must be to award a penalty kick.

The VAR must intervene if referee misses to award the penalty.

Min 84 – After the ball has left the field of play by goal line, away player 10 have a small contact with his foot on opponents’ home player 8 foot, already outside the field of play. The contact was not with excessive force and for this reason it´s considered to be unsporting behavior.

In these situations, the correct decision must be to show a yellow card.

Correct decision from VAR not to intervene.

Min 87 – Clear tripping by defender 77 on attacker 77. Referee correctly awards a penalty kick. Then, before the ball is in play, the goalkeeper is clearly ahead of the goal line with both feet, and he saves the ball.

In these situations, the correct decision should be to order to repeat the penalty kick and warn verbally the goalkeeper as first offence.

Correct decision from VAR to intervene and advise to repeat the penalty kick, without OFR, as this was a factual decision.

Elimai – Okzhetpes

Min 59 – Inside home team penalty area, home defender 23 trying to shield the ball, stretches the leg to the side and unfairly blocks (and trips) his opponent nº 7.

In these situations, the correct decision must be to award a penalty kick.

Correct decision from VAR not to intervene.
