The Director of the KFF Refereeing Department, Nuno Alexandre Parreira de Castro has published explanations regarding individual match incidents from the 10th round of the Premier League.

Atyrau vs. Kaisar

Min 20 – Inside home team Penalty Area, the ball is between goalkeeper and attacker 99. Both are challenging for the ball. Goalkeeper manages to play the ball with his hands and only after there is an inevitable contact with the attackers' foot who is running towards the goal-keeper.

The correct decision in this situation is to allow play to continue as careless contact was made after playing the ball.

Correct decision by VAR not to intervene as there is no foul by the goalkeeper.

Ordabasy vs. Ulytau

Min 74 – Inside the away team penalty area, the ball hit attacker 2 on the arm and then he immediately scores a goal by kicking the ball to goal.

In this situation, as stated in Laws of The Game, it is an offence if a player scores in the opponents’ goal immediately after the ball has touched their arm/hand, even if accidental, and so a direct free kick must be awarded against the attacker.

Correct decision by VAR to intervene and inform the referee.

Kyzylzhar vs. Yelimay

Min 44 – Inside the penalty area, defender 77 tries to kick the ball away. In front of him was an attacker and the ball hit his arm which was not in a natural position making his body bigger and goes to another attacker who scores a goal.

In this situation, a direct free kick should have been awarded against the attacker who played the ball with the arm.

Correct decision by VAR to intervene and inform the referee.
