Workshop for Kazakhstani UEFA referees held in Astana

The event was held on 7 July on the initiative of the KFF Department of Refereeing and Inspection and was aimed at preparing for the new season of European competitions.

The workshop was attended by 16 referees, including VAR specialists and the women's international team. The seminar was run by Nuno Castro, Head of the KFF Refereeing and Inspection Department, and Leonid Kaloshin, VAR instructor.

The programme covered updates to the IFAB Laws of the Game, which will come into force in UEFA competitions. Special attention was also paid to the analysis of key game episodes from domestic competitions in order to consolidate a unified approach to the interpretation of the rules.

According to the organisers, such workshops will be held regularly during the season. At the same time, a system of mentoring aimed at improving the level of Kazakhstani refereeing will be operating.
