Aktobe to Host the Central Match of the Women's Football Season

According to FIFA, women’s football is the fastest-growing sport in the world, with an estimated 30 to 50 million girls and women actively participating. In Kazakhstan alone, over 10,000 girls are currently involved in football — and that number continues to grow steadily.
UEFA has recognized the Kazakhstani women’s league as one of the most dynamically developing in Europe. The increasing number of clubs, broader geographic representation, improved infrastructure, and rising fan engagement have made the league one of the most promising in the region.
BIIK-Shymkent is a multiple-time national champion and one of the most experienced Kazakhstani clubs in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The team has regularly reached the tournament’s playoff rounds, securing major victories — including a historic win over FC Barcelona Femení.
Thanks to BIIK-Shymkent’s strong performances in European competition, Kazakhstan has earned two qualification spots for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
This season, BIIK-Shymkent will face Polish club GKS Katowice in the second qualifying round of the tournament.
