Kazakhstan Cup Final 2025: Ordabasy and Tobol to Meet at the New Arena
For the first time in the history of Kazakhstani football, the tournament final will be held in Qyzylorda. The main match of the Kazakhstan Cup will also mark the debut official game at the brand-new Qaisar Arena. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00, with pre-match activities starting at 18:00.
Both finalists have two trophies in their history. Moreover, the fate of the Cup has already been decided between these two clubs on three occasions: Tobol triumphed in 2007 and 2023, while Ordabasy lifted the trophy in 2011.
In the 2025 competition, both clubs entered from the Round of 16 as Premier League representatives. Shymkent’s Ordabasy defeated Khan-Tengri, Kairat, and Qyzyljar on their way to the final. Kostanay’s Tobol advanced past Zhetysu, Turan, and Zhenis.
Victory in the final will not only bring a prestigious trophy but also grant the winner a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League 2026/27. While Tobol has practically secured a top-three finish in the Premier League — and thus European qualification — for Ordabasy this final represents their only chance to reach the international stage.
Ordabasy is led by Moldovan specialist Andrei Martin, while Tobol is guided by Nurbol Zhumaskaliev, a legendary former Kazakhstan international and Kostanay icon.
Bakhytzhan Pazylkhayyr, Head of the Directorate for Professional Club Competitions, shared his official comment:
"Under the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, large-scale efforts are underway to build new stadiums and modernize existing ones. One of these projects is the Qaisar Arena in Qyzylorda. The Kazakhstan Cup Final 2025 will be the first official match at this modern arena, where Ordabasy and Tobol will meet. It is one of the key events of the football season.
Tobol are fighting for the championship, while Ordabasy aim to strengthen their position in the Premier League. I am confident that fans will witness a high-level match with plenty of intrigue. It is especially symbolic that Askhat Tagybergen, a Qyzylorda football graduate, will take to the field of the new arena — something that I am sure will spark great interest among local supporters."
The Kazakhstan Cup Final promises to be a bright conclusion to the season and a true celebration for all football fans. The players will be the first to test the new pitch, while the fans will become part of history.
