Project ALAŇ: Renovation of football fields without budget funds

15 November 2024, 10:35
The Kazakhstan Football Federation has renovated 13 new football fields in the country. In just two years, the ALAŇ project has covered the cities of Almaty, Shymkent, Aktobe, Zhezkazgan, Qyzylorda, Petropavl, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ayagoz, Aksu, Balkhash, Atbasar, Saran and the village of Balpyk bi in the Zhetysu region. No budget funds are used in the renovation of football fields.

In order to develop grassroots, the KFF management held a series of meetings with the UEFA leadership in 2022 to obtain funding for the implementation of a large-scale project. As a result, the Union of European Football Associations allocated 3.7 million euros. The renovation of football fields also gave impetus to local executive bodies to carry out work to improve the infrastructure of stadiums.

"I am surprised that local authorities have not reconstructed the football fields before. Football should live in the city of Balkhash, which has such a stadium and thousands of children should train there. This will give impetus to Kazakhstani football. We have various tournaments, but teams from Balkhash do not participate in them. Why? Because there were no such new football fields. Now teams will systematically train here and take part in competitions," said Yermukhamed Maulen, Advisor to the President of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, at the opening ceremony of the renovated pitch of the Metallurg stadium in Balkhash.

The KFF project for the renovation of ALAÑ football fields started in 2023. The implementation is carried out within the framework of the execution of the order of the Head of State on the development of mass sports. The project has been designed to last 3 years and is supported by UEFA. The main goal is to improve the quality of the sports infrastructure and develop grassroots football in the country.

“We express our gratitude to the KFF management for the ALAÑ project. Of course, such a new field is a great gift for the children of the Ulytau region. We are carrying out systematic work, we have opened a football center, the Ulytau club is showing good results. We have talented children, and if everything goes well, then good players for Kazakhstani football will grow up on this field,” said Talgat Baysufinov, President of FC Ulytau, at the opening ceremony of the renovated field of the Metallurg stadium in Zhezkazgan.

The ALAÑ project has become an example of successful joint work of football experts, sponsors and local executive bodies. Fore more information follow the ALAÑ YouTube channel. The new issue is dedicated to the opening of the reserve field at the G.Muratbayev Central Stadium in Qyzylorda.
