Galymzhan Kenzhebek: “There is progress in the game of the national team”
First of all, we managed to recover over these two days. Today we’ll have our pre-match training session. As for how ready we are – we’ll see tomorrow on the pitch.
– Galymzhan, after the match against Wales many felt you were substituted too early. How does this support affect you?
– After the game I saw those messages of support and it meant a lot to me. I think it can help me grow as a player. I hope to justify the trust and continue receiving support from the fans.
– It’s been a while since the national team had a player who left such an impression. In the Wales game it looked like, had you stayed on longer, there could have been a goal. Do you think you might have scored if you had remained on the pitch?
– First of all, I want to thank God, and also our coach Ali Khanaliyevich. He knows better than anyone when substitutions need to be made. If you compare our matches since March, you can see the progress in the game of the our team. The coach has his own vision, and I fully support him.
– Before the match against Kairat you said you wanted to beat them – and in the end your team won. Can you say something similar now, ahead of tomorrow’s game, to inspire another winning performance?
– As a player, I want to win not only against Kairat but in every match. Tomorrow we’ll also fight for victory and give everything we have. Whether it’s Belgium or Kairat – no matter who the opponent is, we want to beat everyone.
