The Kazakhstan Football Federation continues to implement the initiative of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on developing grassroots football across the country.

The Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) has approved its Grassroots Football Development Strategy for 2025–2030, aimed at promoting children’s, school, student and inclusive football.

The strategy covers school and university leagues, preschool football programmes, and such initiatives as Family Football and Walking Football.

In 2025, more than one million people took part in KFF grassroots events, reflecting the growing interest in community sports across all regions of the country.

As part of the National School League project, implemented jointly with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and supported by UEFA, 850,000 schoolchildren participated in football competitions and 186,000 in futsal tournaments nationwide. For pupils in grades 1–4, the “Baldauren” tournament was organised, along with the UEFA Grassroots Week held in 18 regions and involving over 1,000 children.

The Kazakhstan Championship among private football schools and academies was also held, featuring more than 500 teams and 9,000 players across six age categories from 18 regions. In addition, a women’s student futsal league brought together 15 teams representing universities and colleges across the country.

The Kazakstan Amateur League saw participation from 277 teams and 6,500 players. The finalists from Almaty and Oral will compete in the Kazakhstan Cup alongside professional clubs, as well as the UEFA Regions’ Cup for amateur teams.

KFF also organised the Kazakhstan Championship, Cup and Super Cup in Beach Football, with 10 teams from different regions, and carried out a number of social initiatives for children with special needs: the Kazakhstan Championship for children with cerebral palsy (7 teams, 85 participants), the Blind Football Federation Cup (60 children), as well as football festivals and coaching workshops.

In the field of coach education, 349 physical education teachers completed training under the UEFA D Licence programme.
