Kazakhstan to host FIFA Series matches in March 2026
The primary objective of the tournament is to offer national teams the opportunity to compete and share experiences with opponents from other confederations, strengthening the bonds between the world’s diverse footballing cultures.
For the first time, the FIFA Series was held in a pilot format in spring 2024. The 2026 edition will mark the inaugural official tournament, and, notably, will include a women’s competition for the first time.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented:
“The FIFA Series is about unlocking development potential for players, coaches and fans, while promoting football’s universality and diversity through meaningful matches. The 2026 FIFA Series will amplify this effect in both men’s and women’s football. By uniting nations through competition, the FIFA Series aims to strengthen the game at every level — from grassroots communities to the global stage.''
Kazakhstan is among the confirmed hosts for the men’s series. The men’s matches will take place in Australia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, Rwanda, and Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, the women’s series will debut in Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire, and Thailand, with further hosts to be confirmed.
Negotiations are currently underway with other national associations, which may join the list of host nations. The full lineup of participating teams will be announced in early 2026.
Each group will feature teams from different confederations, offering a friendly-match format that fosters meaningful matchups without overloading the international calendar.
