Astana hosts first UEFA C Licence coaching course for women

19 December 2025, 15:20
The UEFA C Licence training programme for female coaches has begun in Astana for the first time.

The educational programme is being delivered with grant support from the Kazakhstan Football Federation and with the assistance of UEFA. This cooperation helps ensure wider access to coaching education and creates additional opportunities for the professional development of participants.

The course brings together aspiring coaches of women’s teams from various regions of Kazakhstan, as well as active players from the Women’s League who are planning to pursue a future career in coaching.

The main focus of the training module is coordination training and the development of motor skills in young players. Over the course of three days, participants study and practise modern methodological approaches to developing general and football-specific coordination, including spatial awareness, sense of rhythm, balance, reaction speed and movement synchronisation. A separate block is dedicated to the basic technical elements of football required for the effective training of young players, such as ball control, dribbling, feints, receiving and passing the ball, as well as different types of finishing.

The programme combines both theory and practise, allowing participants to immediately apply the knowledge gained in real training situations. Particular attention is paid to an individual approach in working with children, the creation of a positive learning environment, and the correct demonstration of technical skills.

One of the key components of the course is the methodology for organising and delivering children’s football festivals and competitions. KFF instructors Nurzhan Abildayev, Yuliya Mamonova and Kseniya Postovaya present modern event formats for younger age groups, aimed at increasing children’s engagement, expanding playing opportunities and fostering a lasting interest in football. Participants also become familiar with the rules, structure and organisational aspects of such events.

The implementation of this module represents another important step in the development of Kazakhstan’s coaching education system and the preparation of qualified specialists to work with young players. The UEFA C Licence coaching programme aligns with the priorities of the KFF Technical Development Strategy for 2025–2030 and continues to contribute to the sustainable development of football in Kazakhstan.
