The event took place from 8 to 12 December in Chisinau at the Moldovan Football Federation’s training centre and brought together representatives of 14 UEFA national associations: Belgium, Norway, Northern Ireland, Finland, Georgia, Andorra, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Montenegro, Moldova, Malta and Estonia.
The seminar aimed to strengthen the capacity of national associations to develop modern models of continuous coach education, introduce flexible learning formats and foster a culture of lifelong professional development. The programme featured knowledge sharing, an overview of current European best practice and collaborative work on a CPD framework model for coaches and coach educators.
The seminar was attended by heads of coach education departments, technical directors and leading instructors from UEFA and national associations.
As part of the programme, Gennady Skurtul acted as one of the key moderators. The KFF Technical Director led a session on coach education methodology through case studies, as well as a dedicated block titled “Developing those who develop coaches”, focused on the professional development of coach educators.
Kazakhstan’s participation in such initiatives underlines the active development of the national coach education system and the country’s status as a signatory to the UEFA Coaching Convention. The CPD tools and modern methodological approaches gained at the seminar will be integrated into the coach education reform being implemented by the KFF from 2025.
Gennady Skurtul highlighted the importance of continuous professional development and adapting UEFA best practice to the national context.
“Continuous professional development is the foundation of the modern coaching profession. Our key objective is to ensure that coaches and educators in Kazakhstan develop throughout their entire careers, not only within licensing courses. Participation in seminars like this gives us a unique opportunity to adapt UEFA’s best solutions to the national context and accelerate the development of our system,” said Gennady Skurtul.
The seminar was held as part of the UEFA Share – Visit 27 programme and formed part of a new cycle of international initiatives aimed at advancing coach education and supporting national associations in the modernisation of coach development.
