In the current FIFA World Ranking, Namibia are ranked 118th.
The national team played their first official match in 1990 against Mauritius, losing 2–1.
Namibia have made four appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations finals — in 1998, 2008, 2019 and 2023, with their best result being a Round of 16 finish in 2023.
The Independence Stadium in the capital, Windhoek, is the country’s main venue. With a capacity of around 25,000, it hosts the national team’s matches.
The most successful club in Namibia is Black Africa SC, which has won the national league 10 times.
Peter Shalulile is Namibia’s all-time leading scorer, with 19 goals in 52 appearances. Defender Denzil Haoseb holds the record for most appearances for Namibia, with 82 caps.
