Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan deepen strategic football partnership
During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of cooperation between the football governing bodies of the two brotherly nations, the exchange of expertise, and the implementation of joint regional projects. Special attention was given to the development of football infrastructure and the initiative to host the FIFA Central Asian Cup.
Marat Omarov spoke about the ongoing football reforms in Kazakhstan, the modernization of infrastructure, and the progress in the privatization of football clubs. He noted that four clubs have already been privatized, and with the support of FIFA, the construction of FIFA ARENA sports complexes at public schools has begun.
In turn, Ravshan Irmatov shared updates on the reforms being implemented within Uzbekistan's football system, including new infrastructure projects, the development of a nationwide network of football academies and educational programmes, as well as efforts to enhance the qualifications of coaches and medical professionals.
As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to increase the number of friendly matches, intensify the training and development of football specialists, and begin the implementation of new joint initiatives.
To conclude the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the friendly and strategic partnership between the football federations of the two countries.
