The Kazakhstan Football Federation, together with UEFA and the Phoenix charitable foundation, organised the inclusive “Football for Life” festival in Astana as part of the New Year celebrations.

The event was aimed at supporting children who have overcome oncological diseases, undergone organ transplants, as well as children with Down syndrome and autism spectrum disorders from the UNI League, and children with cerebral palsy. The festival formed part of the KFF’s social and inclusive activities, focused on engaging children with special needs in the football environment and wider community life.

The goal of the festival was to create a festive atmosphere, support the participants and generate positive emotions through sport, communication and shared activities. The event format was designed with consideration for the individual abilities of the children and based on the principles of accessibility and equal participation.

A total of eight teams took part in the festival, bringing together 60 children aged between 8 and 14. The programme featured playful and recreational activities, elements of football exercises and team interaction, as well as animation performances.

At the conclusion of the event, all participants received commemorative gifts and prizes. The festival ended with interactive football zones and a festive programme featuring Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, who congratulated the children on the upcoming New Year holidays and provided them with bright emotions and lasting memories.

Chingiz Temerhanov, Curator of Social Projects at the Kazakhstan Football Federation, highlighted the importance of such initiatives:

“Today, we held a truly inclusive festival. It brought together children who have overcome oncological diseases, undergone organ transplants, as well as children with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders and cerebral palsy.

For the Kazakhstan Football Federation, initiatives of this kind are of particular importance. We strive to ensure that football is accessible to every child, regardless of life circumstances, and that such projects are implemented on a systematic, annual basis,” he emphasised.

The organisation of the “Football for Life” festival underlines the Kazakhstan Football Federation’s commitment to the principles of inclusion, equal opportunities and the development of football as a tool for social support and unity.
