Kazakhstan National Team’s Extended Squad for the FIFA Series 2026 Tournament
The tournament will be held in a Final Four format from March 25 to 28 at Astana Arena in Astana. In the opening match, Kazakhstan will face the Comoros national team, while their second game will be against either Kuwait or Namibia.
A total of 50 players have been included in Kazakhstan’s extended squad.
“Together with the head coaches of the U-21 and U-19 national teams, we carried out scouting work at the Premier League clubs’ training camps in Turkey from February 13 to 25. We spoke with club coaches, watched friendly matches and identified a number of candidates for the national team. In accordance with FIFA requirements, an extended list of 50 players was submitted by March 1, from which 26 players will be selected for the FIFA Series 2026.
The coaching staff carefully analyzed the matches of the opening round of the Premier League. When evaluating players, we primarily focused on their playing time and technical and tactical performance. A thorough selection process has been carried out, and after the conclusion of the second round we plan to finalize the national team squad for the upcoming tournament.
Considering that the third round will finish on March 22 and our first match is scheduled for March 25, the team will not have the usual amount of time for a training camp and preparation. Therefore, the final squad will include players who are currently in the best playing form and are most ready for the upcoming matches,” said Kazakhstan head coach Talgat Baisufinov.
