Cacau is new head coach of the Kazakhstan futsal team.
The 54-year-old specialist is well known to Kazakhstan futsal fans. Cacau previously served as head coach of the Kazakhstan national futsal team from 2013 to 2018. Under his leadership, the national team achieved historic success, winning its first-ever medals at a European Championship by claiming bronze at UEFA Futsal EURO 2016.
At club level, Cacau enjoyed sustained success with Almaty-based Kairat, leading the team to two UEFA Futsal Cup (now UEFA Futsal Champions League) titles in 2013 and 2015, as well as multiple Kazakhstan league championships and domestic cup victories.
Over the course of his career, the specialist has also worked with a number of foreign clubs and national teams, including Chrudim (Czech Republic), Napoli (Italy), United Galați (Romania), as well as the national teams of the Czech Republic, Kuwait, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates. This experience underlines his strong international reputation and extensive coaching background.
The Kazakhstan Football Federation wishes Cacau every success in his work with the national team and is confident that his return will represent an important step in the further development of domestic futsal and in achieving new sporting success on the international stage.
