FIFA Series: A New Opportunity for National Teams
The FIFA Series was first held in 2024 in a pilot format. Following its initial success, the project was developed into a full-fledged international tournament, and from 2026 it will be held in an expanded format. The key innovation is that women’s national teams will now participate in the tournament alongside men’s national teams.
The main goal of the tournament is to give national teams more match experience and allow teams from different regions to compete against each other. In the FIFA Series, each group will consist of four teams from different continents. Each team will play two matches. This format ensures valuable match practice without adding extra pressure to the international calendar.
Matches in the 2026 FIFA Series will be held in several countries, including Kazakhstan. Other host nations will include Australia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, Rwanda and Uzbekistan. Women’s national team matches will take place in Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire and Thailand.
As part of the FIFA Series, the Kazakhstan national team will have the opportunity to face teams from other continents and gain valuable experience. Such matches help improve competitiveness on the international stage and broaden the team’s international exposure.
