Match Incidents Clarifications – Premier League Round 5 (According to the Laws of the Game)

The Director of the KFF Refereeing Department, Nuno Alexandre Parreira de Castro has published explanations regarding individual match incidents from the fifth round of the Premier League.

Okzhetpes vs Irtysh

Min 72 – Inside away team penalty area, attacker 63 was waiting for the ball and played it with his right foot. From behind, defender 27 stretches the leg to play the ball but kicks in a careless manner opponent´s leg and not the ball, making him fall. The referee didn’t have a good angle of view and missed the offence.

Correct intervention from VAR after checking the incident.

Correct final decision from referee to award penalty kick after OFR.

Min 82 – On a free kick to home team, the ball is crossed from distance inside the away team penalty area. Already inside penalty area, attacker 11 jumps to head the ball. From behind, goalkeeper 16 also jumps to punch the ball, but he uses his knee up and hits the attacker on his back with medium intensity making him fall following a clear reckless foul. The referee, although very well positioned, could not see that offence as it happened behind the attacking player.

Astana vs Ordabasy

Min 19 – Inside the home team penalty area, attacker 45 and defender 4 challenge for the ball. They both jump and attacker heads the ball directly and from a short distance to the arm of his opponent, which was in natural position and not making the body bigger. The referee awards a penalty kick.    

Correct intervention from VAR after having checked the incident.

Correct final decision from referee changing his initial verdict and cancelling the penalty kick after OFR.

 

Zhetysu vs Elimay

Min 79 – After a long pass, already inside away team penalty area, defender 5 and attacker 77 are challenging for the ball which is coming from the air and bouncing high. They are both running, looking at the ball in the air. Attacker is in front and when defender turns, there is a normal colliding contact between both, as they were having the same movement, but no foul was committed.     

Correct no intervention from VAR after checking the incident.

Correct final decision from referee to allow play to continue.

 

Kyzylzhar vs Zhenis

Min 37 – On an attacking move by home team, attacker 10 enters the away team penalty area, with the ball controlled by his feet. After his dribbling on opponents 8 and 10, another defender 93 stretches the leg to play the ball but  trips the attacker in a careless manner. The referee misses the offence and allows play to continue.   

Incorrect no intervention from VAR.

Incorrect final decision from referee not to award the penalty kick.
