Former Football Players Help UEFA In Football Development

The brightest former football players gathered at UEFA headquarters in Nyon to discuss a number of issues relevant to European football.

On Monday, December 17, football stars as Esteban Cambiasso, Michael Essien, Célia Šašić, Florent Malouda, Ricardo Carvalho, Christian Karembeu, Steve McManaman, Lora Georges, Luis Garcia and Ezhi Dudek, gathered at UEFA headquarters at the round table. They discussed a number of topical issues for European football and provided the most important feedback to UEFA, which will help in the further development.

The meeting was moderated by UEFA Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti and ambassador for football issues Luis Figo. The participants discussed a wide range of issues, including the away goal rule, the VAR system using, tournament formats and fixtures.
