The UEFA Executive Committee has made official changes to the format for the final round of the European Futsal Championship 2026, which will take place from 20 January to 7 February.

Accordog to results of the UEFA EURO 2026 Futsal qualification, Belarus has advanced directly to the final tournament.

Given that the host countries - Latvia and Lithuania - prohibit matches involving Belarusian teams on their territory, the UEFA Executive Committee approved a fair and balanced solution to ensure the successful running of the tournament by adding a third host country.

Slovenia was chosen as the third country. The city of Ljubljana is characterised by its experience of successfully hosting the 2018 Euro and its modern infrastructure. The Slovenian Football Association has also expressed its full support for the project.

On the new format:

Group A matches and one quarter-final will be held in Riga, Latvia
Group B matches and one quarter-final will be organised in Kaunas, Lithuania
Slovenia will host 18 games: the Group C and D matches, two quarter-finals, semi-finals, third place match and final will take place at the Arena Stožice venue, while the two group games in the third round will be played consecutively at the Tivoli Arena complex.
The Kazakhstan national team will take part in the qualifying matches. The draw will take place on 3 July, and the games are scheduled for 15-24 September.
