Match Incidents Clarifications – Premier League Round 13 (According to the Laws of the Game)

The Director of the KFF Refereeing Department, Nuno Alexandre Parreira de Castro has published explanations regarding individual match incidents from the 13th round of the Premier League.

Aktobe – Astana

Min 54 – Inside away team PA, the ball is crossed to the center of the area, where two player challenge for the ball. Away defender moves forward and plays the ball with the chest and not with the arm. Difficult situation for referee to see but checked by VAR.
Correct decision by referee to allow play to continue.
Correct decision by VAR not to intervene.

Min 78 – Inside home team PA, the ball is crossed to the center of the area. Away player 10 receives the ball and when he was turning to goal, home defender 26 makes a sliding tackle and does not play the ball but clearly hit his opponent on the right foot/leg. Clear foul.
Incorrect initial decision by referee to allow play to continue.

Correct decision by VAR to intervene and advise for OFR. Correct final decision from referee to award a penalty kick.

Min 90+3 – Inside away team PA, home attacker kicks the ball towards goal. Just in front and very close is the defender 45 and the ball hit him. Even if not clear on images if the ball hits the arm or body, the arm is completely close to the body and in normal position and therefore there is no foul.

Correct decision by referee to allow play to continue.

Correct decision by VAR not to intervene.

 

Kaisar – Ulytau

Min 36 – On a fast attack by home team, away player 19 is in front of home defender 17 who is running straight to goal only with goalkeeper in his front. Just behind the defender made physical contact with the attacker and held him with hands on his shoulders making him fall. With this action he clearly denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

Correct decision by referee to award a direct free kick and show red card to player.

Correct decision by VAR not to intervene.
