02 July 2025, 10:44
The Director of the KFF Refereeing Department, Nuno Alexandre Parreira de Castro has published explanations regarding individual match incidents from the 14th round of the Premier League.

Ulytau – Zhetisu

Min 19 – Inside home team PA, an away attacker kicks the ball directly towards the defender's hand. The ball is kicked from a very short distance, with speed and the defender nº 30 has his arm close to the body in a normal position.

Correct decision from referee to allow play to continue as there is no foul by defender.

Correct decision by VAR not to intervene.

Tobyl – Zhenis

Min 71 – Inside away team PA, away defender 63 is holding attacker 14 with both arms. The ball is crossed by attacker 10 and hits defender 63 on his right arm/elbow which was open, not in a natural position (holding opponent) and making his body bigger.

This was not possible to see by the referee as his angle of view was blocked by the attacker.

Correct decision by VAR to intervene for handball offence and recommending an OFR. Correct final decision from referee awarding a penalty kick.

Kaysar – Elimai

Min 76 – Very close to the goal line, when the ball was almost out of the field of play, home player 29 from the back and with no chance to play the ball, uses the arm and strikes his opponent on the head with his arm with some intensity. The laws of the game states: “..., a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.”

Referee clearly misses the all incident and wrongly allows play to continue.

Correct decision by VAR to intervene and recommend referee an OFR. Correct final decision from referee awarding a red card to home player 29 for violent conduct.

Min 90+3 – Inside away team PA, home attacker 19 challenges for the ball with away defender 3. On their movement towards goal, the home attacker kicks with his left leg from behind the right leg of the defender, making him lose balance and unfairly winning an advantageous position. As a consequence after this the defender holds with both arms the left arm of the attacker making him fall.
Referee wrongly misses the first situation and after that he awards a penalty kick for the holding and shows the YC for defender nº 3.
Correct decision by VAR to intervene for a foul on APP and recommending an OFR. Correct final decision from referee awarding a Direct free kick against attacker and canceling the YC to defender.

Ordabasy – Kairat

Min 57 – On a fast attacking movement by home player 98, he passes his opponents, and from behind the away player 15 trips and holds him with both arms, with the only intention to stop this promising attack.

Referee very close, awards the foul but clearly misses a second yellow card for away player nº 15 for stopping a promising attack and the player was wrongly not sent off.

Correct decision by VAR not to intervene as according to the Laws of The Game this is out of VAR Protocol.
