Artificial Intelligence Generates 2026 Kazakhstan Premier League Fixture List

The draw was conducted online and attended by KFF leadership, representatives of the clubs, and specialists from Astana Hub who developed AI-powered software to generate the fixture list.

The use of artificial intelligence in competition planning aligns with global best practices. UEFA uses innovative technology in the draws of its European club competitions, while leading football clubs and national teams employ similar digital solutions to optimise scheduling, manage player workloads and improve operational efficiency.

The implementation of modern digital tools forms part of broader efforts to integrate artificial intelligence and digital technologies. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has declared 2026 the Year of Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, emphasising the importance of implementing AI solutions across all key sectors, including sport.

In compiling the fixture list, the algorithm considered a broad range of sporting and organisational factors, including stadium availability, weather conditions, clubs’ participation in European competitions, the FIFA international match calendar, the balance of home and away fixtures, infrastructure capacity, major city events and security-related considerations.
